Tory Lanez’s wife, Raina Chassagne, has filed for divorce less than a year after their marriage. The 31-year-old rapper, known as Daystar Peterson, was sentenced to 10 years in prison in August after being found guilty of shooting Megan Thee Stallion in 2020.
Court documents obtained by TMZ reveal that Raina filed for divorce citing irreconcilable differences. The filing comes just before what would have been their first anniversary on June 25, 2024. Raina has also requested legal and physical custody of their seven-year-old son, Kai.
Despite his conviction, Tory Lanez expressed his intention to fight the verdict and maintain his innocence in a statement on Instagram. He refused to apologize to Megan over the incident, stating that he would not apologize for something he did not do.
In Megan Thee Stallion’s victim impact statement, she condemned Lanez’s actions, accusing him of making a mockery of her trauma and attempting to destroy her character and soul.
