Proposed Amendment of Chiefs Law Cannot Achieve Any Result

The senator-elect for Oyo South Senatorial District, Barrister Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli, has declared that the proposed amendment of the Chiefs Law in Oyo State cannot achieve any result.

Alli, a former secretary to the Oyo State Government, cautioned that the proposed amendment will give the governor of the state more powers than is needed and the process will become political.

DAILY POST recalls that the Oyo State House of Assembly has perfected plans to amend Section 28 (1) of the Chiefs Law, CAP 28, Laws of Oyo State 2000.

The executive arm of government in the state, led by Governor Seyi Makinde, had sent the proposed amendment of Section 28 (1) of the Chiefs Law, CAP 28 Laws of the State 2000, to the state house of assembly. The proposed amendment is currently before the Oyo State House of Assembly for amendment.

Alli, has, however, said that the proposed amendment cannot achieve any result.
