On August 29, U.S. law firm Fox Rothschild announced the successful integration of all five attorneys from Aboyoun Dobbs, a New Jersey-based firm known for its advisory services to automobile and truck dealerships. The addition of Aboyoun Dobbs’ legal team, led by partners Joseph Aboyoun and Seth Dobbs, has been completed at Fox’s Morristown, New Jersey location.
In the midst of a year marked by expansion, numerous major law firms have embraced collaborations with smaller counterparts. Law firm mergers have surged during the first half of 2023, a notable increase compared to statistics from 2021 and 2022, as per legal consultancy Fairfax Associates.
Established in 1989, Aboyoun Dobbs has built a reputation for guiding regional automobile dealerships through mergers, acquisitions, business formations, franchise disputes, and various legal concerns encompassing environmental issues, estate planning, and succession planning.
Fox, originating in Philadelphia, boasts an automotive industry practice that now includes 13 attorneys with the recent inclusion of Aboyoun Dobbs’ legal team.
In a transformative move earlier this year, Fox Rothschild witnessed a change in top leadership, with healthcare lawyer Todd Rodriguez assuming the role of firmwide managing partner. This transition followed real estate lawyer Mark Morris, who transitioned to the role of firm chair, effective from April 1.
The expansion drive continued when Fox incorporated a small North Carolina-based firm specializing in adoption, surrogacy, and assisted reproductive technology, further strengthening its legal offerings in April. This addition introduced two more lawyers to Fox’s roster.
