With almost two decades of experience managing the Dannevirke District Court, Andrew is well-acquainted with the local community.

The service offers guidance on various legal matters including employment contracts, family law matters such as power of attorney and wills, and consumer affairs issues such as guarantees and traffic fines. Additionally, Tararua Community Law will conduct educational sessions on relevant topics.

Andrew emphasizes that Community Law covers a wide spectrum of legal issues and can assist individuals in navigating the legal landscape, providing referrals to appropriate authorities if necessary. The initiative is primarily funded by the Ministry of Justice and comprises 11 staff, predominantly based in Palmerston North with an additional office in Levin.

Elaine Reilly, general manager of Tararua REAP, underscores the significance of the law center’s services to the community, emphasizing the importance of seeking legal advice in a timely manner. She expresses eagerness to collaborate on joint workshops to further support the community.

The Tararua office, located at the Tararua REAP Bluey building on Gordon St, Dannevirke, will operate every Tuesday to Thursday and every second Friday from 9am to 4pm. No appointment is necessary, and the service is provided free of charge.
