In a display of unwavering dedication, teachers in Ludhiana’s government schools have been shouldering additional responsibilities and expenses to uphold the integrity of Mission Samrath, despite facing challenges in the second phase of the program.
The initiation of assessments under the second phase of Mission Samrath, launched recently, has presented a hurdle for teaching staff as the necessary worksheets have not been provided to the schools. Consequently, school authorities find themselves compelled to conduct assessments independently, devising makeshift methods to evaluate students’ learning progress without the essential materials.
Under Mission Samrath, students undergo assessments based on their learning aptitude, followed by targeted interventions to address their individual learning gaps. However, the absence of requisite worksheets has left teachers improvising, resorting to writing questions on boards and providing separate answer sheets for students, a process that places an undue burden on the already stretched teaching staff.
Compounding the issue, some schools have resorted to using outdated worksheets from previous years, with teachers bearing the cost of photocopying these materials out of their own pockets, amplifying the financial strain on educators.
Moreover, concerns have arisen among parents regarding the perceived lag in academic progress, with some attributing it to the limited scope of instruction provided under Mission Samrath guidelines.
Addressing the delays in distributing the worksheets, Harjinder Singh, District Education Officer (Secondary), assured that the materials would be dispatched to all schools within the coming days, aiming to alleviate the strain on teachers and ensure seamless implementation of the program.
As Ludhiana’s educators persist in their tireless efforts to uphold educational standards amidst challenges, their resilience and commitment stand as a testament to their unwavering dedication to the welfare of their students and the success of Mission Samrath.
