The management of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, located in Abeokuta, Ogun State, has taken decisive action against academic misconduct by suspending 19 students for their involvement in examination malpractice. Additionally, two students have received warning letters admonishing them to refrain from such unethical practices in the future.
The disciplinary measures stem from the findings of the Examination Misconduct Panel concerning the First Semester Examination for the 2022/2023 Academic Session. Among the disciplined students, four face a suspension lasting two semesters, while the remaining 15 have been suspended for four semesters.
Yemi Ajibola, spokesperson for the institution, affirmed the sanctions and highlighted a significant reduction in the incidence of examination malpractice compared to previous reports. This decline indicates progress in fostering academic integrity within the institution, with the aim of eradicating such misconduct among MAPOLY students in the foreseeable future.
The management’s proactive stance underscores its commitment to upholding academic standards and fostering an environment conducive to learning and ethical conduct. As MAPOLY continues to enforce disciplinary measures, it aims to cultivate a culture of integrity and excellence among its student body.
