KBR, a renowned leader in engineering and technology solutions, has unveiled a substantial contract agreement with Fortescue to provide its green ammonia technology, K-GreeN®, as an integral component of the Holmaneset green energy project in Norway.
Under this arrangement, KBR will furnish its green ammonia technology for the establishment of a 675 metric tonnes per day grassroots green ammonia plant in Norway. The contract entails technology licensing, proprietary engineering design, and front-end engineering design (FEED) support services.
Jay Ibrahim, President of KBR Sustainable Technology Solutions, expressed his excitement about the partnership with Fortescue, underscoring KBR’s dedication to providing zero-carbon solutions for the energy sector. Ibrahim accentuated KBR’s pivotal role in advancing the green energy value chain and bolstering the decarbonization endeavors of industries grappling with substantial emissions challenges.
With a rich heritage in ammonia technology, KBR has been at the forefront of the field for decades, contributing to the licensing, engineering, or construction of over 250 grassroots ammonia plants globally since 1943.
