SeaBird Exploration, a leading marine seismic specialist, has announced its successful bid for ocean bottom node (OBN) source work aboard the vessel Eagle Explorer within the Western Hemisphere. The Oslo-listed company has penned a letter of award with an undisclosed repeat client for a 2D survey project in the Eastern Hemisphere, concurrently securing a contract extension for one of its vessels.
The newly acquired contract entails a duration of approximately six months, accompanied by two options for extensions totaling an additional 12 months. Mobilization procedures have already commenced, with the contract slated to commence operations in the latter half of June. While financial specifics of the agreement remain undisclosed, SeaBird anticipates a fruitful collaboration.
Ståle Rodahl, Executive Chairman of SeaBird, expressed his satisfaction with the company’s expanding backlog, which now includes 33 months of OBN source work, inclusive of options. He highlighted the company’s ongoing exploration of various opportunities in 2D surveys, alongside efforts to optimize the utilization of its streamer capacity.
