A Lufkin Independent School District employee has been arrested on charges of sexual assault of a child.
Justin Cole Snyder, 28, who worked as a janitor at Lufkin High School, was taken into custody on May 16. Snyder was removed from school property and transported to the Angelina County Jail.
Sheila Adams, the executive director of communications and public relations for Lufkin ISD, confirmed that Snyder has been placed on administrative leave while the investigation is ongoing.
“We executed a warrant out of Jasper County for Justin Snyder. The alleged incident did not involve any Lufkin ISD students. He was immediately placed on administrative leave pending investigation,” Adams stated.
As of Wednesday night, Snyder remains in custody at the Angelina County Jail.
