Rodrygo Goes, the Brazilian forward for Real Madrid, has clarified recent remarks that fueled speculation about his future, reaffirming his commitment to the club.
Following his comments prior to the Champions League final, where he mentioned, “Anything can happen” and expressed pleasure in his time at Real Madrid, rumors swirled about a potential move, especially after he praised Manchester City as “the best team in the world.”
To dispel the rumors, Rodrygo took to social media, sharing a photo of himself kissing the Champions League trophy, and expressing his love for Real Madrid. “I love you, Real Madrid,” he posted, emphasizing his affection for the club after securing his second Champions League title.
Rodrygo addressed the controversy, explaining that his previous comments were taken out of context and misinterpreted due to the timing of their release. “The video was taken advantage of, considering the moment, with the Champions League final coming up. If you watch the video, the interview is all cut, it doesn’t show the end of the interview,” he said.
He clarified his stance by saying, “When asked if I’ll spend my whole life at Real Madrid, I said I don’t have a way of knowing that. I said I want to be here forever, but I don’t have a way of knowing.” He further emphasized, “In the interview, I said I still have a contract. When I say it was a pleasure to be here all these years, I don’t say it because I’m leaving but because it has been a pleasure for me. It’s still a dream, I have a contract, and I’m sure I’ll stay.”
Rodrygo’s statement aims to reassure fans and confirm his dedication to Real Madrid, dispelling any doubts about his future at the club.
