NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) — On Saturday afternoon, Joye Law Firm hosted its annual school supplies and backpack giveaway in North Charleston, catering to students from kindergarten through fifth grade.
This event marks the firm’s third consecutive year of participating, in partnership with the organization Motivate to Educate.
From 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., volunteers distributed school supplies and backpacks to families and community members. Each vehicle received two backpacks as part of the initiative.
Kenny Harrell, Managing Partner at Joye Law Firm, emphasized the significance of the event beyond just providing free school supplies. “It’s more than just pencils and notebooks,” Harrell said. “It’s about giving kids an equal opportunity to succeed. This small gesture helps level the playing field and benefits the community.”
Harrell expressed optimism for the future, hoping that next year’s event will expand to reach more areas across the state.
