A month before his criminal trial begins, Sean “Diddy” Combs faces new allegations in a civil lawsuit claiming sexual assault. An anonymous man, identified as John Doe, filed the lawsuit in the New York County Supreme Court.
The man, a photographer and production assistant from Southern California, accuses Combs of assaulting him during a commercial shoot in 2022 or 2023.
In the complaint, Doe describes meeting Combs on set and striking up a conversation. Combs allegedly invited him into his trailer, where he demanded oral sex and promised to “make your career take off.” The lawsuit calls the incident “blatant sexual quid-pro-quo.”
According to the lawsuit, Combs presented the meeting as a career opportunity, which led Doe to feel compelled to comply. It states, “The implication was clear, also, that if (Doe) did not perform oral sex on Combs to his satisfaction, his career would be over.” Doe, who does not recall why Combs was on set, accuses him of sexual battery and demands a jury trial.
Combs’ legal team responded, maintaining his innocence. In a statement, they said: “No matter how many lawsuits are filed — especially by individuals who refuse to put their own names behind their claims — it won’t change the fact that Mr. Combs has never sexually assaulted or sex trafficked anyone.” They also expressed confidence that the judicial process will prove his innocence.
The lawsuit, which TMZ first reported, comes as Combs faces several other legal challenges. His legal team has previously denied all allegations, including the many sexual assault lawsuits filed against him over the years. Combs is currently in jail and facing criminal sex trafficking and racketeering charges. His trial for these charges is scheduled for May 5.
Attorney Tony Buzbee, who is representing Doe, has emphasized the seriousness of the new complaint. He stated, “The facts set forth in this latest complaint are egregious and highly disturbing. We look forward to presenting these facts in court.”
This case is one of many legal battles Combs is fighting. Buzbee, along with Curis Law and AVA Law Group, is also involved in several other lawsuits against the hip-hop mogul. Last year, Buzbee announced representing over 100 alleged victims, including one woman who claims she was drugged and raped by Combs and Jay-Z in 2000 when she was 13 years old.
