UMass Law Ranks Among Top U.S. Schools for Public Interest Law Careers

UMass Law has earned national recognition for its commitment to public service, securing a spot among the top 25 law schools in the country for public interest law employment, according to a recent announcement from the university.

Ranked No. 22 by U.S. News & World Report in its new category highlighting law schools that send the highest percentage of graduates into full-time public interest jobs, UMass Law stands out for preparing students to serve communities in need.

Among law schools in Massachusetts, UMass Law is ranked second, reinforcing its growing reputation as a strong choice for students who want to use their legal skills to create positive change.

“This ranking reflects UMass Law’s mission-driven focus on justice, access, and service,” said Dean Sam Panarella. “We’re incredibly proud of our graduates who are using their law degrees to pursue justice and make a difference in the communities that need them most.”

Located in Dartmouth, UMass Law is the only public law school in Massachusetts. It focuses on affordable legal education and public service through programs like Public Interest Law Fellowships, legal clinics, and the Justice Bridge Legal Center. These opportunities give students real-world experience while helping them build careers in public interest law.
