Local principal accused of breaking mandated reporter law

A Butler County principal is placed on administrative leave after investigators say he failed to report allegations of child sex abuse.

State police said Gregory Mandalas, who works at Knoch Primary School, is a mandated reporter.

As a mandated reporter, you are required to report alleged child abuse, no matter the circumstances.

Police say Mandalas was aware of alleged child abuse between his 19-year-old son and a 6-year-old girl but didn’t do anything about it. He’s now criminally charged.
