New law shakes up election schedule in 3 Western North Carolina counties

A new law changes when elections will be held in three Western North Carolina counties.

Passed last week, Senate Bill 265 changed municipal elections in Henderson, Polk and Rutherford counties to even-numbered years.

The bill was introduced by state Sen. Tim Moffitt.
