The law firm has announced its commitment to provide funding for initiatives that enhance the well-being of communities in the Northwest Territories (NWT) and Alberta.
Eligible programs and innovative concepts in the NWT stand a chance to receive funding grants of up to $15,000, with a total pool of $75,000 available for this year. Of this, $30,000 has been allocated for both southern and northern Alberta.
Field Law is particularly encouraging initiatives that align with various causes, including education, healthcare, supporting at-risk youth, addressing homelessness, promoting women’s organizations, fostering diversity and equality, advancing sports, and enriching arts and culture. Additionally, they are inviting applications from organizations that have been impacted by NWT wildfires and related evacuations or those actively involved in assisting evacuees and recovery efforts.
Jeremiah Kowalchuk, Managing Partner of Field Law, expressed the firm’s commitment to nurturing positive change within the community through the Field Law Community Fund Program. He emphasized the measurable and lasting impacts that previous beneficiaries of the program have had on the community and expressed anticipation for supporting outstanding programs in 2023, especially in the context of wildfire recovery.
Charitable organizations, community associations, and individuals interested in securing funding have until October 2 to submit their applications. Starting from October 5, residents in Alberta and the NWT will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite ideas. Funding recipients will be determined through a combination of public voting and evaluation by a judging panel.
