In a joint operation involving multiple law enforcement agencies, a significant drug bust took place in Mississippi. The Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics, East Mississippi Drug Task Force, Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Department, Drug Enforcement Administration, U.S. Marshals Service, Attorney General’s Office, and Meridian Police Special Ops Unit executed search warrants at two locations on the morning of the operation.
The search warrants were served simultaneously at a residence in the 4200 block of 5th Place and another location in the 2000 block of 21st Street. The operation was executed at 6 a.m.
During the search, law enforcement made several substantial discoveries. They uncovered a total of 6 pounds of cocaine and over 5 pounds of marijuana, indicative of a significant narcotics operation. Additionally, the operation resulted in the seizure of three vehicles, five firearms, and an astonishing sum of over $84,000 in cash.
One individual, identified as Afrika Roshawn Seals, was taken into custody in connection with the operation. Seals faces serious charges, including two counts of trafficking in a controlled substance, being a felon in possession of a firearm, and three counts of conspiracy.
Seals’ bond was set at a total of $700,000. However, it’s worth noting that he has since posted bond and been released from custody.
This operation represents a significant victory in the ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking and related criminal activities in the region. Law enforcement agencies collaborated effectively to remove a substantial quantity of drugs and illegal firearms from the streets, making the community safer for its residents.
