Jake Gyllenhaal Congratulates Peter Sarsgaard on Venice Best Actor Win for “Memory”

Maggie Gyllenhaal, Jake’s sister and Sarsgaard’s wife of 14 years, also celebrated her husband’s achievement on Instagram, praising his astonishing performance in “Memory.”
Peter Sarsgaard, 52, acknowledged his wife during his acceptance speech, expressing his love for her and highlighting the ongoing writers’ and actors’ strikes in Hollywood. He also revealed a personal connection to his role in “Memory,” as his uncle suffered from dementia and passed away during the pandemic.
In addition to Peter Sarsgaard’s win, Cailee Spaeny received the Best Actress award at the Venice Film Festival for her portrayal of Priscilla Presley in Sofia Coppola’s “Priscilla.”
