Discussion Among National Leaders on Child Labor Regulations in the United States

The annual symposium hosted by the Arkansas Law Review is scheduled for Friday, October 13th, from 8:15 a.m. to 4:50 p.m. The event will take place in the E.J. Ball Courtroom at the U of A School of Law.

This symposium will bring together 13 nationally recognized scholars, lawyers, and experts on child labor to discuss various topics related to child labor in the United States. These discussions will encompass the history of U.S. child labor laws, strategies and challenges in federal and state enforcement, recent updates in state child labor legislation, state policy approaches to combat oppressive child labor, the connection between immigration policies and child labor exploitation, methods to enhance legal compliance and youth safety in the workplace, trends in child labor law violations, and child labor trafficking.

The symposium offers a unique opportunity for the U of A School of Law to take a leadership role on the national stage in advancing scholarship and discourse surrounding the multitude of issues related to children in the workforce.

Attendance at the symposium is eligible for up to seven hours of continuing legal education credit, and it is open to the public. While admission is free, registration is mandatory.
